FAQs

How Do I Submit an Assignment?

You will use the message feature in Apex. For more information visit Help.

How Do I Get My CST Opened?

To have your CST opened, reach out to your teacher after submitting all assignments (any practices, journals, explores, projects, etc.) and request that it be opened. If you have not finished and submitted your assignments, we will not be able to open your test.

How Do I Find My Current Grade?

Your current grade will appear on your Apex dashboard under the column labeled Grade-to-Date. Any overdue assignments or assignments not yet graded will be factored into the Grade-to-Date as zeros.

How Do I Know When Assignments Are Due?

There are a few ways..... 1) On your Dashboard, click on your Grade-to-Date and it will open the assignment scheduled for the entire course (due dates may be adjusted at times throughout the semester - especially the first few weeks); 2) On your Dashboard, click on the Calendar feature to view the assignments on a calendar; 3) In the Coach Report that arrives on Sunday night to parents with email addresses on file.

What is the Penalty for Late Work?

This one is tricky! There is no penalty for turning assignments in after the due date - they are there to keep you on pace, BUT if you get too far behind or have too many overdue assignments we may add some supportive requirements for you that may include required lab hours or a return to the home school Apex lab.

What Do I Do If a Quiz is Locked?

Contact your teacher as soon as possible. We may need to go over some concepts again!

How Much Should I Work Every Day?

That really depends on you, BUT we recommend one hour per course per day, but every student is different. You may need to work more or less than other students. The best gauge for how much you should work is the color of the progress bar; If you are in green, you're working enough! If you're in red, you're not working enough!

Where Are Your Google Classroom Codes?

High school students will not use Google Classroom (unless you are in Here-to-Career). Elementary and middle school students can get their codes by looking up their teacher on the Program Staff link in the navigation bar at the top of this page.

What Do My Teachers Mean When They Say "Correctly Formatted Assignment"?

A correctly formatted assignment is one that looks exactly like the original sheet, but with your answers added to it. Please don't submit an assignment as just a list of your answers and nothing else. Our memories are great of course, but they're maybe not THAT great and we do need to know what questions you're answering. Extra imaginary gold stars if your answers are in color!
